Welcome to BloodDaze
In February 2015 I was diagnosed with Myelodysplasia. Had never heard of it before, but it doesn't take long to start learning a new vocabulary.Â
Although it is known as a blood cancer, I referred to it as a failure of my bone marrow, but apart from feeling a bit more tired and bruising easily, there was not much more to it until now.
Unfortunately, I am about to learn a whole lot more as it has just progressed into Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) and I head into a much more aggressive battle with that!
I always thought I would start a blog when I went in for a bone marrow transplant, as I have read one from a friend who had a BMT and I found it really helpful - so I thought maybe I could help someone in the future, although I am sure I am not going to be as funny and entertaining as what he was!
I really have no idea what I will have to write - so I will just write (and I have been known to waffle along). I thought it might also help to look back when it's all over to see what was happening at the time, and to compare my journey with that of my husbands and family, as I have heard some very different perspectives in chatting to others!
It's entirely up to you if you want to read my ramblings..
(and apologies for typos along the way)
