A bit late from my normal Monday evening update as on Monday I CAME HOME!

So Monday night was spent curled up in bed with my cat just enjoying being back in my own bed and yesterday did not much at all except enjoying to be home.

So what happened at clinic? Not that much - except to confirm the blood tests and to find out my platelets are still falling, but that they don't really know the reason why this is happening. My bone marrow cells are now 100% male which is a good sign, and makes the falling platelets even more confusing!

So next week we return to Westmead for clinic for the day and I am booked in to have a transfusion - with the expectation that my haem will follow the same pattern as the last couple of weeks and drop again this week (already feeling puffed).

My biggest issue at the moment is an ongoing headache. I wake up in the morning with high pitched 'crickets/cicadas' singing in my head. It pulses between my ears a bit. At this stage it is annoying but not painful but as the day progresses, the headache gets worse, louder and painful until by the end of the night it hurts to move my head around. Panadol doesn't seem to do much at all. If I get up and am doing something that makes me puffed (which is pretty much anything) and my heart starts beating faster, the sound in my head starts pulsing louder, along with my heart beat. Dr's seem to think this is due to my anemia - so fingers crossed as my haem starts to rise, the headache goes away.

Last week was a good week and I was in Cronulla for 3 days attending work meetings. I was unsure how it was going to go but I was happy to be there. I was stiff and sore after sitting in uncomfortable chairs for 3 days - need to work on those core muscles again, but I was happy that I managed to contribute to the meeting, could remember things that had happened in the past and that 'chemo' brain didn't seem to have effected me too badly. Not ready to go back to work just yet, but want to start going to the office a day or 2 a week just to start easing back into things - but still got to find the motivation to get up and get moving and find a routine again that works for me between sleeping, walking and getting some things done.

So, let's see what this week brings and if I have sorted myself out by next week.
