Good and bad since last Monday's posting.
Was feeling well when I last posted and on Tuesday Anth and I headed off to the movies (with Dr's approval). I wanted to see Star Wars whilst it was still on the big screen and around here it was very much at the end of its run - so at a 3pm session, the 2 of us and 5 other people watched it! It was very long...
Wednesday I then had the pleasure to head out to lunch with my cousin which was really nice to get out and feel civilised again. Came home to have a snooze, but didn't really manage one and hadn't for the last 2 days. I had a toasted sandwhich for dinner as I wasn't very hungry, but need to eat, but unfortunately dinner all came up a bit later that night.
Thursday Anth and I went walking, and i was feeling a bit tired, so we didn't do the full lap of Parramatta Park. I essentially came back very tired and rested the rest of the day. Friday morning we headed off walking again and I decided we could do the full lap again. This was a bit of a mistake and I had to sit down about 5 times on the way around. As we got to the end of the walk, I had to sit down more often. The last sit down was just before we left the park for the walk up the street to our apartment. Not a huge long walk, but a gentle uphill slope. At that point, I could not make it and for me to admit that, things were pretty bad! Anth said he would go and get the car - but I suggested rather than moving the car, just get the scooter - so he walked back, got the helmets and I climbed onto the back of the scooter to get me home. Again did nothing much for the rest of the day.
Saturday we had an invite down in Camden to some friends of Anth's that I know he was keen to attend. I stayed in bed until about 12 noon - no walks that day and we headed down about 1pm. First we headed to Cobbity to visit my Aunt and Uncle where I essentially walked from the car to the lounge and sat there chatting for a few hours before we headed out again. Arriving at the BBQ, I went from the car to a chair, out of breath moving around at all.
I had a very simple dinner of steak and some tomato and cucumber and we were the first to leave, but unfortunately when I got back to the apartment, I threw up again.
Sunday I did essentially nothing at all - struggling to even stand for a few minutes in the kitchen. I was concerned as this is about the most out of breath I have ever been - I used to walk the dogs for an hour with my haemaglobin in the 70's. So, concern as we headed off to clinic today as if my haem was really low, then it has fallen a long way in a week and it wasn't my haem then why was I feeling so crappy?
So, today it turns out that my haem has not fallen that much, and they are happy with everything else. The explanation of why I don't really feel so great - there isn't one really - just 'par for the course'. So today I had a decent nap, but this afternoon have had to take my first anti-nausea tablet since I got out of hospital. Also, I have gone off food a bit - not really interested in eating - so poor Anth keeps suggesting things and I keep saying 'no' - but nothing at all has any appeal.
So I think I will be laying low this week - focus on getting plenty of rest and try and recoup some strength and stamina as I am not enjoying this set back at all.
Pretty sure next week will be transfusion week and then keep focused on coming home as soon as possible in March!
