HB: 95
WT:4.1
PLT: 82
NEU:2.9
WGT:62kg
The above results were from clinic last Friday (day 106) but bloods taken on Wednesday (Day 104).
HB is good as I had a transfusion of 2 bags the week before (The Thursday before Easter weekend) so nothing to get too excited about yet. The platelets have come up on their own accord - so this is good news. Fingers crossed that trend continues, and Neut & White cells remain in normal range. Weight keeps coming up - that is the one number I would be happy to see go down or at least remain the same. Unfortunately my sweet tooth is starting to appear again...
So how do I feel? I am out of breath still - and I feel it is a double whammy of low haemaglobin + generally having lost any fitness I had. I can function pretty well for a couple of days working in the office or heading off to appointments etc, but then suddenly a day pops up where I have a headache from the time I wake up and have no energy, so end up doing nothing all day. Sunday was like that! We had clinic on Friday and Anth and I went out for lunch and then had another appointment, and then on Saturday I was pottering around the house doing washing etc and then Sunday, all energy was gone. What I am trying to do is listen to these signs and let myself have a zonked out day as I feel I can then get back up and going the following day.
What else - nothing really! I have been back in the office - this week will probably be 4 days as we gear up for the next conference which is only a fortnight away. Wednesday I have my next bone marrow biopsy and hopeful that this one gives me some indication if I still have some residual leukaemia cells or not. This is what we were hoping the last biopsy would show, but it wasn't clear in its results.
I turned up for a yoga class last week. It was a little too strenous for me. I managed to do the warm up stretches and warm down but the high energy poses in the middle - nope! Today I went to a 'gentle' class and this was much better and I managed to do 95% of the class - just had to rest when doing too many downward dogs!
So that's about it - life has returned to close to normal with just a bit more rest and a slower pace!
