Was hoping for some clear answers today, but didn't really get any further. Apparently looking under the microscope, my cells look OK - there are still some 'blasts' but everyone has blasts. They just can't tell if they are normal blasts or leukaemic ones still. So a bit more waiting....
Haemaglobin is down again - and I'm certainly feeling it. Walking around even the shortest of distances and I am huffing and puffing. Platelets have dropped again, but no real explanation of why this might be happening.
Transfusion booked in for tomorrow at 8.00am so at the moment 2 bags lasts about 2 weeks. I would be much happier if numbers were holding a bit more even if they weren't going up.
Medication got reduced today - so less pills to take! Happily give up all the tablets but it was pointed out today which I would be on for 6 months and which for 12 months - and as long as I stay healthy, I'll take them! The reduction in the cyclosporin does put me at risk of GVHD but it was reduced a little last week with no effect, so I feel positive re reducing that. They normally start reducing it closer to 100 days, but I'm not that far away from that deadline!
The hopeful news is that after next weeks clinic we should be allowed to return home. It still means we might need to come down to clinic a couple of Mondays but I am booked in for the monthly follow up in Newcastle from the 6th April.
So was hoping for a much clearer outcome today, but things still a bit fuzzy around the edges and patience is still needed.
