Haem: 71

White: 0.0

Platelets: 32

Neut: 0.0

Weight: 61.8

Still no movements on those numbers - and I really thought today would be the day!

However, rejoicing that the NGT tube came out!!

Was very unimpressed yesterday when the consultant wouldn't give the yes for the tube to come out, but as much as we joked about just pulling it out - I wasn't prepared to be that rebellious. The tube was on the forefront of my mind last night and at one stage I rolled over in bed, knocked the tube, it scraped along the back of my throat and I started to gag - had to sit up and grab a spew bag as I started heaving - but luckily nothing came up.

So my mission from the time I woke this morning was to get it out. I didn't want to have a shower or do anything until it was out. My throat actually felt sorer than it did yesterday but I took that to be the irritation of the tube and the fact it was now a bit loose I (and I promised I did nothing to contribute to that).

So we were pushing from early morning for the tube to come out but unfortunately we did not get the 'yes' from the consultant until about 1.00pm and the lovely nurse as soon as she heard the yes came in to do it! Not as horrible coming out as going in, but still some facial expressions to go with it!

I then proceeded to enjoy a smallish portion of eggplant parmigana which I got down OK.

Happy to report any 'real' food I have eaten has staid down so far and the diarrhea has (or is) coming to the end of its current cycle. Last night the family (eldest daughter I believe mostly) cooked me some cauliflower soup and I can say I very much enjoyed eating some real food once again.

Since it came out, I haven't stopped coughing - I feel it is still a tickle in the back of my throat,, but it is just annoying (and tiring) to keep coughing.

So, now it's just about getting some strength back, moving more and waiting for those counts to come up.

Then I hope it is smooth sailing for me - but it is then into another new territory that I haven't experienced before.
