A day of rest and sleep and going to the bathroom.

Thought it was going to get a bit better today, but my backside is like a number of shards of glass are stuck....

Have been waiting to see the Dr (and still waiting) to check that there was no infection from the stool sample yesterday, and if that the case, then hopefully they can give me something to stop going to the loo as often and give my butt a chance to recover.

What I did discover though today is what they call the 'sit spa'. Really nothing like the spa's I have visited - but basically take 1 hospital green tub, add salt and warm water and then sit in it so your butt gets a soak!

Did this after the shower today, and it was quite comical! I love standing in the shower and just letting the water run across my back - but the hardest thing is getting out. With all the airconditioning etc, it makes getting out of shower a chilly affair. So the idea of sitting in a bucket of water whilst still a bit wet was not appealing - but I thought if I didn't do it then, then it would be never. So, I got the tub ready. Now, there is a chair in my shower, but I decided if I put the tub on the floor, and bascially had to go butt first into it, it would be far more beneficial. So, I wrapped the (tiny) hospital towel around my shoulders and squatted into the bucket.

OK. My hips/butt a bit bigger than what I had imagined, and I didn't have enough water in the tub - so had to scramble back onto my feet, fill more warm water and then try again. second attempt was more successful - but I can only imagine what I looked like, perched in this green tub on the floor of the bathroom.

After all that, it was sit down for a rest as having haemaglobin (and effects of chemo I presume) drop again, I am certainly feeling tired after showering. (and I forgot to mention yesterday that I did get one bag of blood).

Sat in a chair for a while, but then climbed back into bed to curl up again as the cramps started again.

Tried reading the paper, but fell asleep - and pretty much spent the day sleeping, chatting on and off with Anth and napping again.

He has very kindly cooked me some pasta for dinner, and I am hungry, but have to admit I am too scared to eat anything else until I know if I can have a tablet to stop me needing to go to the toilet.

I have also had a bag of platelets today.

I shall continue to wait for the Dr (it's now 7.30pm!). One of the joys of being in hospital over Xmas and I am sure my sore arse is the least of her worries. I have said, if this is the only thing I have to complain about at the end of this process, I will be a happy patient!
