Well, the title of the day was the first +ve, but I certainly didn't feel it today!

There were alarms going off all night with various medications going in, and lots of fluid. A mix up in the lines meant around 3.00am a full re-shuffle of lines was done - so I lay awake for a while, and my tummy was not feeling great. By 4am I was up - and essentially back and forth to the bathroom with my bowels working overtime and feeling like I was sitting on shards of glass each time I had to go. By 9.00am I was just about in tears and when back in bed, just curled up in the foetal position.

The kids came in, but the laughter and cheer from the day before was gone. I was exhausted. They had presents for me for Xmas - but I could barely lift my head off the bed.

By about 11.00am it had eased off a bit, and finally by about 1pm they had given me some Buscopan to help with the cramps. That helped the afternoon a bit, and by dinner I was able to eat a bit.

My sister came down to visit - although I wasn't that talkative, and then had to go to catch the train back and head back to work herself.

So the afternoon I slept, and slept, ate some dinner and then slept all night (apart from nurse who wanted to turn on overhead light each time she took obs). There are some nurses that can change lines, take obs - and I can basically sleep through the entire thing, and then there are others that decide you need to be fully awake and functioning for them to do what they need to do.

I am actually writing this the following morning and feel a bit better so far - but think it'll be a quiet day!
