Today was a good day. Really very little to report, and this means nothing exciting medically, no challenges - so a good day.

The tablet intake is on the way up (the price of being detached from the IV machine). For me, it's one pill at a time, and then somehow have to 'align' it in my mouth before I can swallow! It now takes about 300ml of milk to get them all down, one at a time! I am not sure I will ever get to the stage where I throw them all in at once and swallow!

Eyes feeling much better today. I woke with them OK, still a little sore, but good enough that I could work on the computer for a couple of hours. By noon, I decided that was enough screen time as they were getting sorer. It was good to actually 'do' something again. Still a little limited, and it's good to know there is someone to check my emails etc on the other end before they go out...

No bloods today - they took cross match this morning, so I thought I'd be getting some Hb but it was not needed, as that number was holding - which is good!

The 'vegetarian lasagne' arrived from the hospital kitchen, but 2 'tastes' in I decided I couldn't eat it, so I made myself a chicken, cheese & sweet chilli sauce toasted sandwich and wandered off into the kitchen to toast it! First time in nearly 2 weeks I've actually left the room on foot! I was feeling pleased with myself - eating, doing things for myself etc

By about 1.30 I was feeling tired, so thought I would have a nap before visitors started arriving, so climbed into bed and was just resting my eyes when my sister arrived. We chatted for a while (hearing horror stories of what one of my naughty dogs has been up to) and then she left, and I thought I would nap before the kids turned up - but that was short-lived and they stayed until 7.00pm - until I essentially had to explain I was very tired and they should head off...

Dinner had arrived whilst they were here and tonight it was 'Chinese lemon chicken' but as we lifted the lid to check it out, the smell that permeated the room made my stomach turn. This is day 2 without anti-nausea tablets, and I thought I don't want to go back especially just based on the smell of the food! So, it was tucked away, lid back on and I made a chicken roll.

I think I have to now rely on preparing my own food as that I can eat and keep down.

So, overall a lovely day with no sleep during the day - so feel I will sleep well tonight.
