I came into this treatment with the expectation of losing weight - certainly not ending up bloated and heavier than I have ever been! I am now 7kg heavier over 6 days thanks to all the fluids being pumped into me!
So I woke at 5.30am, and again struggled getting into the bathroom and taking the oxygen off. However laying back in bed with the oxygen, I felt better than I had for days - and everyone commented on how much better I looked!
One of the crazy things about the hospital system is that the cleaners come into the room at around 6.00am on the weekend to clean the room! So once, awake at 5.30am - that's pretty much it for a while!
I ended up sitting up in the chair this morning reading the paper on my i-pad. This is really the first time I have felt up to reading anything. I ate a full bowl of rice bubbles this morning which I was happy with.
I climbed back into bed around 11.00am as I was getting a bit cold and tired and napped for a little while before D1 & D2 turned up around noon for a visit before they headed off to dancing competition.
I ate lunch whilst they were here - 2 x bags of cheese and jatz + custard! I was very happy as this is more than I have consumed in the last 2-3 days in total!
It was still very much about trying to move as little as possible, as even with the oxygen if I start moving around, the coughing starts and then it's very hard to catch my breath. Apparently a CT scan has been ordered, but that will probably happen tomorrow.
So after girls left at 1.00pm, I watched a show, then settled in to nap again, and shortly after that Anth arrived. We chatted for a while, but then I was getting tired, so slept. Ate 2 sausage rolls for dinner (now an hour later, not so sure about it!) but was happy I got them down.
All up a much better day - no spike in temperature, feeling much more alert, and as long as not moving too much, relatively comfortable.
Have last round of chemo due tonight + tomorrow morning.
