Day 5: Last day at home

Sunday. Wake up with plans to get a lot done, but not feeling great today. Very tired and just can't seem to do much. Spent time with daughter 2 (D2) talking and was keen to do something with the dogs in the sunshine as I will be missing them over the next month.

I also wanted to do some cooking (anyone that knows me, knows I love to cook) but end up sitting at the kitchen bench whilst D2 does most of it (scarily making the pastry better than I did 2 weeks ago!).

The plan was to go out to dinner as a final 'big/decent' meal but too tired to do that.

Daughter 1 (D1) gets home from day out around sunset, and we head out onto our balcony to shave my hair off. I decided a long time ago that before any treatment took my hair, I would take it first. D1and D2 thought it was hysterical as they chopped it all off in patches, and I just had to think...It's only hair, and it'll grow back.

D1 & D2 then present me with a beautiful gift - a box with 'goodies' for the hospital. Tears are plentiful as their thought into each item amazes me. Everyone talks about teenagers being selfish and only thinking of themselves, but my girls have proved that when things get tough, they produce their very best.

Some takeaway from dinner and I am fast asleep on the lounge by 7.30pm. Not the day I had planned, but a good day all up.
